PETA GRAY

Peta Gray, Principal Director & Legal Advisor – Business & Property

Managing Director

Peta is the owner, founder and Managing Director of Enterprise Legal, as well as being one of South-East Queensland’s leading business and property lawyers. Peta is known for being a tenacious and commercial problem-solver and a strong advocate for her clients, whether that be in negotiating the best commercial deal for them or in resolving a complex dispute.

Peta has a ‘broad but specialised’ knowledge of all business and property law matters, as well as the disputes that arise in those areas. Having originally trained predominantly in commercial property law, Peta’s natural acumen and interest in all things business saw her legal practice naturally progress predominantly into business law. Upon founding Enterprise Legal, Peta realised that she had a knack for being able to use her business knowledge and commercial approach to resolve disputes relating to business and property matters and thus further expanded her knowledge and skillset. This unique set of specialised skills makes her extremely well-placed to actively oversee all matters run within the Firm and provide daily mentoring to all members of the Enterprise Legal team in relation to their current matters.

In addition to her active involvement across all Firm matters, Peta works with her own clients across a diverse range of industries, but she possesses particular knowledge and experience in providing legal advice to clients in the following sectors:

  1. transport and logistics;
  2. manufacturing;
  3. health services;
  4. construction and building services;
  5. agribusiness; and
  6. not-for-profits.

Peta is particularly sought out for her experience with:

  1. negotiating multi-million dollar supply contracts in the logistics and manufacturing sectors;
  2. resolving complex shareholder or partnership disputes;
  3. advising on complex property matters relating to easements, leasing arrangements and alike;
  4. providing advice on complex disputes relating to franchise arrangements;
  5. advising on agribusiness structuring and restructuring and disputes, including equitable claims made by relatives against living persons; and
  6. advising on building and construction related matters.

Peta’s straight-shooting and upfront approach to the practice of law means that she won’t always tell you what you want to hear, but she will tell you what you need to hear!

What our clients and colleagues say about Peta

Over the years, we have found that the extensive knowledge of our businesses that Peta and her team possess has increased the ease and efficiency with which we can complete transactions and other matters, because we do not need to ‘brief them’ on how or where a specific contract or transaction ‘fits’ within our overall business structures and plans. The transport industry in particular, is extremely specific and complex and we often comment that the lawyers who act for other parties in deals that we work on do not share Peta’s transport-specific knowledge. It is a credit to Peta that she has taken the time to get to know us and our businesses over the years, so that she can possess and use this information when it really counts. - Steve Hillman, Hillman’s Transport

Peta is without doubt the driving force behind Enterprise Legal’s success as a trusted and respected provider of legal services in Toowoomba and the Western Downs. She has been described to me by clients and colleagues as “super smart”, “a powerful advocate for her clients” and “above all, reliable and strategic”. I agree with all these sentiments. In my interactions with Peta, I have found her to be considered in the approach taken to clients’ matters, with an especially keen eye to exploring all the strategic options before taking any steps. Her approach to managing clients and cases exemplifies that taken by the most senior practitioners I deal with regularly in Brisbane and around the State. - Barrister-at-Law

Peta and the team at Enterprise Legal have been integral to our business growth, and in dealing with the unexpected twists and turns in business! They're excellent advisors and take the time to really understand their clients. I thoroughly recommend them. - Jim Tanner, Jim’s Jerky & Mighty Good Food Group

Finally, a law practice with a difference! Peta and the team at Enterprise Legal are bounds ahead of other typical law firms in Toowoomba. A fellow professional recommended their practice to me, and I am incredibly grateful that they did. From my first meeting with Peta to our final meeting, I always felt at ease and knew she had my best interests at heart. Enterprise Legal as a whole has been able to make the entire process seamless and simple in a complicated legal world. I never thought I'd trust lawyers, but with these incredible women, I do entirely—thank you for being different to the rest. - Michael Baker, Toowoomba Dental
